1.) Expanded with three excellent additions.
2.) Secured the Big East Brand.
3.) Negotiated keeping the NCAA Tourney credits of the Catholic 7 group for the conference.
4.) Set our deal with MSG to run to 2026.
5.) Finalized Fall sports schedules.
6.) Set tournament sites for Volleyball, Lacrosse, Men's Hoops, Mens and Womens' Tennis (maybe others as well).
7.) Secured the most lucrative TV contract in history for a non-football league that exceeds some football contracts as well.

Now, do we need a commish? Sure. Would it be nice to have one already? Of course. But the presidents have not been doing nothing and actually got quite a bit accomplished in a very short period of time. All the big things we needed are done. People are freaking out about no basketball schedules yet, but that has always been the case in the Big East. In June, the conference would announce repeat opponents and the home and away games - but no actual dates or times. That is because schools like St. John's, Georgetown, etc., play in pro arenas. The Big East always had to wait for the Garden, Verizon, etc., to set the NBA and NHL schedules first. That is not done until the end of the summer. A commish would not change that. Let's hire a good person to run the league - we don't have to rush into hiring someone so ESPN will stop saying bad things about us. I mean, O'Neil refers to "nine priests and a university president" in her comments. Last I checked there were only seven university leaders in the conference that were priests. Butler, Georgetown and Seton Hall are not run by priests. So they can't even get easy facts straight.

Redmen9194 has it exactly right.
And the Big East just escaped a situation where football school ADs and Presidents were attention whores. Oliver Luck never passed a microphone he didn't like... maybe ESPN can get quotes from him on the West Virginia travel expenses. Herbst at UConn hurts the school when she openly campaigns to join other conferences-- she hurts her school because they look desperate and she hurts the perception of the AAC because she makes it known that UConn wants to leave the conference. The 10 of us in the Big East know when to keep quiet.

Another thing... ESPN and the ACC are basically the same entity. The ACC has had a 34 year old case of phallus envy towards us- attacking us, imitating us, trying to be us by stealing our schools. They're sociopaths. It's embarrassing. This is nothing new. And ESPN (the ACC) will continue to criticize us no matter how successful we are, and the ACC will continue to get a free pass no matter how sucky they continue to be.

General OT questions which would be good topics for a competent ESPN reporter:
1. How the fk is Pitt going to keep recruiting in New York City when they'll play no games closer than 4 hours from NYC...? Based on the likelihood that Pitt can't maintain their NYC recruiting, will the Pitt hoops program revert back to their 1990's suckitude...?
2. Who convinced the ACC-ESPN incorrectly that Syracuse owns New York City...? At what point will the ACC realize this is wrong...? Will that person get fired...?
3. How does the ACC-ESPN go about improving their sad football conference...?

Feel free to add your own questions.

Now that Goodman works for ESPN, it's his turn to bash the Big East (gotta love the "anonymous" coach quotes....):
