Of course it's relative, but all other things equal would you rather be 1st or 4th in a state? It's not a big deal, just a boost.

Article in the Richmond Times Disgrace (er Dispatch) this morning talking about the addition of Davidson and George Mason and talks about A10 guarding against further defections to Big East. Mentions that VCU has not been contacted by the Big East at all and Richmond AD says there haven't been any "formal discussions" yet. This squarely means there have already been informal discussions between the 2 parties. Where that leads I don't know but clearly they've already been talking...take it for what its worth.

Well, since we've probably came up with every possible permutation of in or out so far...
Big East Basketball is what it's always been. Great competition nightly.
If the Atlantic 10 didn't suck, why is everyone looking for the exits?
There is a reason why the A-10 left a team in the Central Time Zone...SLU, your move.

It is what it is...

honestly i am impressed at how well the A-10 has handled the madness of realignment, as a league its in a tough position if any of its schools go FBS in football they are primed to be poached that and it is basically the holding league for Basketball only schools waiting on BE expansion.

The league knows that umass is gone to the AAC if navy balks and its probably not a matter of if but when the BE decides to take the next two schools. I'm impressed at their ability to be relevant. Although put me in a Davidson non-believer category i think the A-10 is one bridge too far for them.

Back to the BE its just sucks that they won't give a definite answer. At some point they will have to make some sort of announcement in either expansion to 12 or the addition of non-revs... most likely both. It just kinda sucks sitting in limbo. I feel for Saint Louis as well they are now really an outlier of the A-10. The most recent A-10 additions shows that the A-10 is moving ahead like SLU is a goner so hopefully this means that the someone knows something as opposed to them doing what we are and just guestimating

Bill, I feel your pain but we need to have some perspective: We are still in a basketball centric league where the vast majority of teams value their RPI and understands where it comes from.

I just don't get the feeling that the Big East is imminently adding more teams. They have too much other stuff to figure out. To this point, they cant even figure out the Commish thing. Adding schools has to be far down the list of priorities.

We need to find a way to be happy where we are for the near team, at the very least.

You're right. I'm as much opposed to "where we are" as anyone in any fan base on here, but I realize that it isn't going to change anybody's mind. SLU did this to themselves in 2005 (in terms of putting themselves as an outlier).

The Big East will add teams IF they feel they are worthy adds WHEN it's best for the Big East.

As I've told myself recently "1 more year, then worry".
