6'10 PF/C Hunter Thompson from Wyoming has committed to Creighton. He chose Creighton over offers from Colorado, Nevada, Montana, San Diego, New Mexico, and Wyoming. He was receiving interest from Wisconsin, Stanford and Clemson. Definitely an under the radar recruit (plays in Wyoming). 3 star Rivals, 2 star ESPN. Unrated in 247/Scout. Watching his videos, he runs the court well, seems like a pretty good ballhandler for his size actually dribbling the ball up the court many times, has range out to the 3 point lane, has some post moves, seems like a good shot blocker and dunks the ball alot. Shot 43% from 3 as a sophomore and averaged 20 and 10 as a junior shooting 35% from 3.

Strengths:
Thompson is a good looking post prospect with long arms, good shoulder width, and solid fundamentals for someone so young. The rugged 5/4 can score on the block utilizing either hand and he has a soft touch that extends out to 17-feet. In addition, he can back down his opponent and finish over either shoulder utilizing both hands. Not too mention he can face-up his defender and attack off the bounce from the elbow. He runs well in transition and can catch and finish at the rim on the break. Defensively, he shows good strength on the block and he's an excellent weak side shot blocker and solid rebounder.
Weaknesses:
Thompson needs to continue to get stronger and continue to polish his low-post skills and face-up skills.
Bottom Line:
Wyoming, Utah and Colorado are getting involved with this impressive young post prospect. Due to his length, hands, good feet, and budding skills, Thompson should be one of the more sought-after big men on the west coast in the coming years.
Here is what Eric Bossi told Creighton Rivals:
Big body to build on, has some skill and plenty mobile. I haven't seen him as much as many of the other guys in 2017, but I like what I have seen. He's definitely on the list of guys to closely monitor from a rankings perspective.
