Valley trying hard to out-joke the A-10 with the addition of Loyola.

Ok, this one's too easy to take another A-10 shot. I'll just say I don't like the league and move on.
Big East Basketball is what it's always been. Great competition nightly.
If the Atlantic 10 didn't suck, why is everyone looking for the exits?
There is a reason why the A-10 left a team in the Central Time Zone...SLU, your move.

Still not a joke of a conference. Relax, St. Louis is ok there if it has a good program as you obviously believe. ...and Davidson is not a bad addition, either.

Missed my chance, didn't I?

It always could be worse I guess. We could be talking Great West here.

Back to everyone's regularly scheduled programming. I really can't believe I passed on a freebie against the A-10.

Seven our our schools are facing a downgrade in conference, too. I think most of us would prefer to have the conference of the past few years than the one we'll be in, but things move on and programs survive. We're happy our schools found a positive in all of this after a couple of years of absorbing hit after hit. The A10 just had a big up, now it takes a down, is it really that bad compared to a couple of years ago?

I'll be honest, I haven't liked the A-10 since SLU's initial involvement. So to me, it doesn't matter in that regard.

Right now, it's similar to the pre-last year conference (replace Temple with VCU). Don't like it, but I never have, so I'm not the one to ask.

VCU fans, this is not an indictment of your team/fans. I really like VCU a lot. They're part of the saving grace of the A-10 right now.

i swear dump you hate the A-10 we get it. But take it from a Slu fan and relax and let it go.
1. You can't change the past (SLU is in the A-10 deal with it if you don't like it go cheer on Maryville)
2. This is a Big East board... while i think talking about the potential add on for the BE is still valid harping on the A-10 is pointless.
3. The A-10 is not that bad, true his year it had a bumper year with 10 top 100 RPI teams and 5 NCAA teams. But next year it should have 6-8 in top 100 SOS with likely three teams in the tourney.
4. Simply ranting on and on about the A-10 and crying for the local valley makes Slu fans look provincial, and makes the school look like its not ready for the big time. Its annoying and it gives Saint Louis a bad rap.

I understand you have an opinion, and you can have it. But this is a Big East Board keep you posts on here on BE topics If you want to mention that SLU should be in the BE fine... if you want to comment on whether or not the BE is expanding fine, but going on and on about the A-10 is for a Slu board or a Valley board.

I get that it's a Big East board. Many are saying that SLU is still in play for that league. That's why I'm here in the first place. I think SLU dropped the ball on the Big East.
Me hating the A-10 means I hate the A-10, nothing more. The Big East took 2 A-10 teams this year. So the A-10 is still in play. I don't think the Big East is expanding, so it's a case of which situation does a fan prefer? I don't think the Big East really cares if SLU "looks provincial". They care about the best basketball teams they can find. Most SLU fans are for the Atlantic 10 as it is (as opposed to the Valley), so it's not a mainstream view to be against it. I could tell the world all the reasons why, but it's not the place for it.

The Valley isn't ever happening either. Too many people from both sides against it.

If the Big East expands, SLU has a good chance to be in it. But that's a million dollar if.

Did you see the Chris May interview with Frank Cusumano? That's enough to make a fan sick.

Background: Frank is the only SLU fan among the St. Louis media (very key point).

After Crews was signed, May did a 5 or 6 minute piece with Frank, and FC (it's shorter) asked Chris about the conference rumors. May said "I don't know what the future is going to bring us. We're bullish on the A-10. It's a great league, and I'm proud to be a part of it."

A "no comment, Frank" would have been so much easier, but I realize he's got to deliver the company line.
