I bet the eastern schools will want to get to 12 soon so that they don't need to make as many annual long road trips as they will need year.

I suspect a spot will stay open until Notre Dame decides it does not really likes its arrangement the ACC. Eventually, ND will be #11 and another team (SLU) will be #12.

I can think of worse conferences to emulate. Big 10 isn't the top conference for nothing; excellent athletics, strong sports, national recognition. They're stocking up on a Hockey league...lets get these Lacrosse and Soccer powerhouses nailed down.

Any idea what ND's cut of non-football money from the ACC is?

You are missing some very important additions to Xavier.

- Matt Stainbrook: 6:10 Junior Center. Sat out this yeas due to Transfer from Western Michigan. Very tough and skilled post player out of St. Edward HS in Cleveland. Has lost weight and is now sculpted and ready to roll.

-Myles Davis. 6:2 Sophomore Shooting Guard. High level Top 100 recruit from Notre Dame Prep who sat out this year due to academics.

-Jalen Reynolds: 6:8 Sophomore Power Forward. High level Top 100 recruit from Maine Central. Sat out this year due to academics.

-Chris Cantino: 6:9 Power Forward. Sat out this year due to transfer.

Best Recruit to date- Brandon Randolph. 6:1 Top 100 combo guard from Los Angeles, CA.

All these guys will make a significant difference in XU's lineup and depth. I know that Stenger WILL NOT be a starter and Landen Amos WILL NOT be the 6th man.

Born and raised a fan of the B1G (Wisconsin), I'm not making fun of them. It was just amusing.

Using rough calculations the ACC basketball take, prior to renegotiations concerning Notre Dame, is comparable or slightly better than if we get $500 million. Their basketball portion is something like $60 million split 15 ways each season. What the true numbers are I have no idea, I've just seen a few places that claim you can estimate football vs basketball as an 80%-20% division on the media deals. Their deal probably improves with Notre Dame, too. I doubt our conference offers them financial improvement unless the ACC deal seriously hurts their football numbers.

I don't see Notre Dame joining the Big East unless the B1G steals UNC and another school from the ACC. Even then only if their TV deal drops in value. It seems unlikely given the fact that Uconn and Cinci would probably be scooped up by the ACC in 2 seconds.

My hopeful Butler starting lineup next season...

PG: Rene Castro (Fr.) A quick combo guard who can pull up or score off the dribble very well. He is aggressive and can create momentum easily. He needs to step up his defensive intensity.

SG: Roosevelt Jones (Jr.) Kid is built like a linebacker, and he should honestly be playing the three. Rose is just overall a tough kid who does everything a coach wants.

SF: Kellen Dunham (So.) A pure shooter who can take you off the dribble or pull up from 25 ft. Should be playing the two, but he just simply is quick enough for this conference at SG. Good news is that he has the body of a 3.

PF: Khyle Marshall (Sr.) A somewhat inconsistent player. When he has scored more than 10 points in a game this season Butler has only lost once. He gives great energy to the team and the fans. Watch out for the alley-oops.

C: Kameron Woods (Jr.) Kam has just came within himself these last 8 games or so. He has really stepped up his game, and has been a good spark off the bench lately. Woods is a very controlled shot blocker. He is going to need to get stronger before he can become a real threat at the 5. Watch more for him in the 2014-2015 season to be a beast.

FOX. If you ask me, the one reason Notre Dame would join us is FOX. If FOX wants their football package, and gets it, they might try to land all of their sports by putting them with us. We just don't offer enough for Notre Dame without help, and probably won't short of the ACC getting hit by massive raids. We're an amenable choice for Notre Dame, just not one of their best choices.
