Butler - lock
Creighton - lock
Georgetown - 90% certainty
Marquette - 90% certainty

St. Johns - 50% chance
Villanova - 33% chance
Xavier - 33% chance
SLU - 25% chance

Villanova with wins over Louisville and Syracuse this week. They're in.

They're not a lock with 7 losses that include 1 or 2 bad ones and 11 regular season games to go., If Villanova goes at least 6-5 the rest of the regular season they will make it, but if they slide they'll be in serious danger of missing out.

Yeah, I'm real happy for our BE7 brothers but to say a team that's 13-7 is definitely in the NCAA Tournament is putting the cart so far in front of the horse the horse can't even see the cart from where it's at. Long, long way to go. But good for them and G'town too. I had to immediately go gloat about those 2 wins on twitter. With my team gloating by association is all I've got. Hey, uh, wasn't Terry Dehere great?

I say six out of twelve if you add in Creighton and Butler which means half our league will be in the NCAA tournament. I would think that has to be worth something when it comes to media rights.

It shouldn't be worth anything in media rights. They'd be crazy to throw money around in the millions based on one season. Same as how silly it is to see fans thinking a bad loss might cost their school an invite to the join the BE7.

Look at it this way. If a league has zero NCAA teams it has less value than a league with 2 correct? 4 more than 2 right? I think a league with six NCAA teams is better off than a league with 4.

Yes, Butler didn't even make the NIT last year, why bother considering them? One year doesn't matter. If the set of 12 teams regularly gets 4-5 bids (no idea) over the last 20 years, then this season having 0 or 12 doesn't matter. They aren't going to make decisions based on such a limited view.

Look like locks
Georgetown
Butler
Marquette
St. Louis
Creighton
Villanova

Fringe teams on bubble watches
Providence
Xavier
(St. John's)

Congrats, especially, to Providence, for turning their season around and getting some recognition late. Xavier has been on and off watches, while St. John's has fallen by the wayside, late. Almost certainly going to be 6 without an unexpected auto bid, somewhere.

6 a year would be very nice for a 10-12 team league.
