X really blows my mind this season. They have great wins @Butler, Memphis, and St. Louis. But they have laid an egg against Vandy, Wofford, and Wake. Hell if they won just those three games they would be 20-9 right now and probably be a bubble team. Oh well lets hope this is the start of something.

You guys beat BU at X earlier this season...hopefully we can beat you on Saturday.

I stand corrected. Sorry for the error, my memory apparently isn't up to snuff at midnight.

Yes, I'm happy. Especially with the Brad Redford rejection of Jordair Jett (sp) in OT. Never, ever, EVER in my lifetime would I think I would type that. Brad Redford rejected a guy. But don't feel too bad St. Louis fans, it's hard to win at Cintas. This isn't chest thumping, it's just fact. In conference X has lost only a handful at home over the life of the arena. It's just a hard thing to do.

Oh i'm not really blaming the reffs. Although that rejection did get all hand lol... it was an awesome game X deserved to win and shot selection is what did us in (who would have though ellis would have had such a off night). Hell Cintas is such a tough place to win and X is very much alive with a shot to go to the tourney. X was picked to win by 1.3 and it was tied at the end of regulation. I think X won fair and square and deservedly so, I really can't say enough good things about them.

As it relates to the reffs even the X announcers agreed they started calling the game different in the second half. The made some strange calls against both teams and what i hate worse of all they started giving make up calls. I posted prior to OT that i really hoped the reffs would stay out of the OT but they didn't. Made to weak calls against stl, missed a foul on a mitchell lay up and then the out of bounds/ time out debacle. While X very well might have one the game, the reffs turned what should have been an exciting down to the wire OT finish to a garbage foul fest (seriously i hate intentionally fouling i would advocate just about any reasonable way to eliminate it from the game). Unfortunately A-Ten reffs just aren't up to speed with the quality of the league, the reffing is bad for every team. I do not live in STL and i usually end up listening to the opposing feed and the announcers there point out the reffing flaws. Its tough here in BE/SEC land talking about A-10 teams at a bar with friends and having to go ... that was a blown cal, that was a blown call, that was a blown call, while trying to argue that the A-10 is a legit credible league. (and thats not just SLU games) SLU and X were in the middle of a classic and the reffs choked. The best thing about getting into the BE would be hopefully getting reffs who can handle the speed and skill of the types of teams on the floor. So we don't get classics turned into foul fests.

Once again i do not want to go on looking like sour eggs... a legit win by X... they are a dangerous team. Do not count them out in the A-10 tourney and we may be looking at 5-6 teams in the dance...

Oh i agree... A-10 reffs just can't handle the speed and quality of play the A-10 teams are bringing. Its not easy to reff and there is a huge difference in the speed and intensity of a A-10 game and your average horizon/ sunbelt ect game. I don't want to fault them they have a hard job and i doubt i could do it as well. That said there are people out there who can reff good games and we need them bad. Every fan in the A-10 knows this its far from a secret. The one thing is usually the reffs are horrible both ways so it usually evens out in the end. There might be a slight home team bias but everyone gets the same number of home games so... i guess we can be greatfull that they are equally bad.

The one call that stuck out in the Xavier game was the missed goaltending call early. That was terrible.

Don't worry, you can complain about refs at any level. We all know refs aren't perfect, you win some you lose some, and moving conferences won't change that for you.

Butler finally looked like Butler for the first time in quite awhile. They are up 30-22 at half.
