Any chances of a national B-Ball league coming from the C7 - just died. St. Mary's was hit with a 4 year penalty.

Omaha is as far west as the NBE (New Big East) is going to go now.

Disappointing. Thought St. Mary's was one of the good guys.

Don't worry Miami's tourney seed is safe (nothing to see here please move on)

I have a basketball boner for Gonzaga, and am a little disappointed they couldn't join the new league.

That said, I could not be happier about the formation of the new conference, the additional teams, and the start date.

Getting sanctioned does not make them a 'bad guy.' They cooperated and had to pay for a former assistant's deeds.

True, but Bennett knew what was going on and did nothing to stop it. If this teaches us anything, it's to never recruit in France. Bet their guys would be absolute pushovers in the paint anyway.

SMC plays in a 3500 seat gym that resembles a large high school. I'd think that makes them less of a possibility than the sanctions.

Miami and North Carolina... will they ever be penalized? It's easy for the NCAA to go after a small college, but they purposely choose to sweep blueblood corruption under the rug.

Ask Jerry Tarkanian how that works:

"The NCAA was so mad at Kentucky they put Cleveland St. on probation".

Luckily, St.Mary's is only 15 minutes from Oakland. Big East games have to be in 6000+ seat arenas, so they couldn't play in Moraga. They could play at Golden State's arena.
