C7 / Big East staying at Madison Square Garden?

With retaining rights to the league name do the C7 also keep MSG for the conference tourney? I can't predict the same turnout as we get for the MVC tournament, but Creighton fans dominate currently even though we have the furthest to travel. Here's a map pf the tickets sold this year. Creighton has more than all other schools combined.

My understanding is that the MSG contract gives MSG an out if more conference realignment happens, which it obviously is. So a new contract will have to be negotiated between MSG and the BE. There are a number of reports that the ACC is interested in making a play for MSG, but perhaps on an every other year basis. It will have to be worked out, but MSG's close ties and history with St. Johns is considered a positive for us in those negotiations.

I see it as win-win.

If we can get a deal with MSG, great.

If we alternate MSG every other year with the ACC, that is fine too. We play the off years in Chicago, help out the western schools, and get major coverage and exposure in two of the biggest media markets in the country.

Win, win.

MSG every year is better than alternating Chicago and MSG. No offense to Chicago, I'm heavily biased towards the Midwest, but MSG is too valuable a commodity to willingly alternate.

I've seen some reports are saying we have the MSG contract, though I'm assuming it's just their own assumption.
