The Big 12 is making public statements about expanding and it's likely Clemson and Florida State are targets. Notre Dame is watching and waiting to see what happens with the ACC.

What bowl tie-ins does the C7 have to offer Notre Dame? The delay in the C7 announcing anything has nothing to do with Notre Dame. That is never going to happen.

I like the ND idea, and that would make sense for BYU as well

Super Conference East
Georgetown, Providence, St. Johns, Seton Hall, Villanova,

Super Conference Central
Butler, Depaul, Marquette, Notre Dame, Xavier

Super Conference West
BYU, Creighton, Gonzaga, St. Louis, St. Mary's

80% of this 15-team league would dance annually from here until Judgement Day :D

There's also often issues with conferences not filling requirements, although that nets bad bowls.

Really? Name the high profile bowls, that aren't part of the new playoff, that don't have tie-ins with conferences. I suspect you are going to come up with a very short list.

That's not my point at all. They're probably screwed for quality bowl tie ins in the next year or few without an affiliation, but they can absolutely get into negotiations to have tie ins in the future. They've just had no reason to while affiliated with the Big East, it doesn't mean they can't. The other independents negotiate specific tie ins, to think Notre Dame cannot find some decent bowl to associate with them in any given year is crazy.

Pretty sure it's the ACC so long as it doesn't start to fall apart. I don't see why Notre Dame would join us.

As long as Notre Dame has that NBC TV deal they are not joining a conference for football any time soon. If that was the case, they would have join the BIG Ten who has been courting them for over ten years now. Also, there is talk that NBC plans to renew their TV with Notre Dame which increases chances that Notre Dame will continue to remain independent. Since Joining the Big East, their Basetball program has raisen from the Dead and they enjoy playing in the east coast, especially at the Garden. People need to remember that Notre Dame has a very Large Alumni base In the New York City Tri-state area which has been a major help with their basketball recruiting. Also, Notre Dame decided to Leave the Big East before B7 made their move to leave. Now, with the ever growing reality of the ACC about to get hit Big Time, it's not surprising we are now hearing rumors about Notre Dame changing their mind on joining the ACC. Why is this so hard to believe? Oklahoma changed its mind on leave the B12 and TCU Changes it mind on joining the Big East. Why should it be different with Notre Dame on wanting to stay with the B7 and Madison Square Garden? Sometimss, the Grass is not always Greener in the other side. Ask some of the schools that left the Big East how things are going for.them now. In the end, they will be surprises and head scratchers for sure. But the one thing we know for sure, conference realignment will change the face of college sports forever!

Louisville, Pitt, and Syracuse who will be moving to the ACC are not going anywhere. Cincy and UConn can be in 0.2 seconds if the ACC losses a couple members. That’s a stronger group than the C7. Add whoever would be left of the ACC and a $50MM exit fee, it’s not hard to see that Notre Dame joining the C7 isn’t anything more than someone’s wishful thinking.

Does Notre Dame have the same exit fee as other schools?
