If they beat Creighton or UConn they not only get in but they get a favorable seed. Shaheen has proven himself to be a top line coach. Happy for him.

The Mountain West is getting 6 teams in, book it. I think Big East gets 5 in. None of Nova, SJU, Xavier or Butler deserve to be in the tourney at this point IMO.

I don't think Seton Hall gets that great of a seed. They seem destined for the pit of misery- 7-10 land.

Nova has a real shot.

Many seem to think that (short of a very efficient win at Creighton or UConn), Seton Hall's ceiling is Dayton bc of their metrics (since the committee supposedly seeds on NET and SHU's will likely be among the lowest of the at-larges, should they get in.)

Yeah I heard the getting in the tourney is the results based metrics, but seeding is more predictive based.

It's stupid, IMO, to use predictive metrics in sports for anything other than talking points and maybe evaluating strength of schedule. There's no sense in punishing a team for winning more than a data model thinks they should. This coming from someone who's career is in data based decision making.

Nova has some serious work to do. They are not in today. Seton Hall is regardless of what the metrics say.

Will be interesting tomorrow to see how high up St John's gets. They win last 3 games- against Butler, DePaul, and Georgetown- they're 11-9 in the Big East. Could avoid Wednesday night pretty easily. Win in a 4/5 game could easily get them dancing there then.

Yeah that would be an ideal scenario.

Is NET still using its mystery formula, with ESPN's special sauce baked into the numbers?
