But Nembhard can't even have an NIL deal. He's Canadian and international players can't have NILs....is Arizona pulling off something shady??

My understanding is that international students cannot earn money in the US, but can earn money in their own country. So schools and donors can just funnel money into some bogus activity the player does back home.

Uhh, is Hunter Sallis still available? I think Kalkbrenner is the only indispensible piece for Creighton, but hopefully this doesn't get followed by even more transfers.

I believe foreign students can receive NIL money as long as they don’t work for it. So no photo shoots in the US, but someone can use a picture of them in-game. The prohibition isn’t against getting paid, it’s against working for pay.

Nembhard was getting NIL the lawyers figured it out.

Just one man’s opinion from afar…addition by subtraction here. I think this Creighton team wins more with D than with O. When RN went down in 2022 the team became better because they could put 5 guys on the floor who could really defend. RN is a smallish guard who doesn’t always commit to D (why I really thought Max would sub him out on that last play vs SDSU.

Find a lead guard with length or have Trey slide to a lead guard role like last year and yiu’ve still got a FF team.

Thanks for the insight Gumby, having Trey stay a year to hone his PG skills for the NBA would be absolutely ideal and possibly addition by subtraction as you say… Trey and R2 are super best friends so it could possibly have been discussed by the two of them in those terms. I like it!

McDermott posted this on twitter tonight:
The transfer portal works both ways. We have enjoyed many players that have come from other schools. All of the young men that have decided to move on have made huge contributions to our program. I wish them all the best as they continue their journey. I hope you will do the same

Yes. Int'l players can be compensated for activities, work, photo shoots, camps, etc.; in their home countries and while on overseas trips with the team.

There are some visa workarounds can allow these international athletes to receive legit NIL monies as well.

Jays have made the Final Cut for several pretty good PG transfers.
