How many units will the Big East earn in ‘23 NCAA Tourney?

ESPN talking heads love the Big East. I’ve seen multiple guys predict Marquette, UConn and CU to the Elite 8. That would be some serious juice. What’s each share of the NCAA pie worth there days anyway?

In 2022: Every game a team plays in the NCAA Tournament is worth one unit. Each 2022 unit is worth $338,887 paid to the conference of the participating school. Each unit has a six-year shelf life, meaning one unit this season is worth $2,033,322 overall.

That’s what I’m expecting, 5-0. The Friars are the only ones who are a lower seed and they caught a break since Kentucky has some injury problems in their backcourt. Time to send that cheating used car salesman home with an early exit. I hope that PC beats them big and UK fans are so disgusted that they then grant Calipari an early retirement.

Iona is the team I wanted to avoid from the 12/13 seeds. I would not want to be UCONN if the game is close late.

Probably going to be favorites in 3 of the 4 games on Sunday- only Creighton probably would be an underdong vs Baylor.

And long term- Marquette is now the top seed left in the East Region.

Betting favorite or not, all of those games seems like coin flips.

It would be interesting to review how our previous NCAA tourney units worked out. Nova's runs generated quite a revenue stream for the league so now it's up to others to repay the favor.
