Not sure where to post this, but not surprising, Jay Wright signed with CBS and TNT to do college games.

God I hope not! Don't do that to Jay CBS. I believe it is main CBS and TNT games and studio including the tournament.

Yeah think it's CBS games during the season and then in studio(probably after 1st weekend-would guess he'll work that 1st weekend at one of the 8 sites) for the tournament.

Stay at 11 and only expand if big time programs become available out of the Big 12, ACC or ND.

The Big East doesn’t need to expand just to expand. Wait and see which programs shake out. Can you imagine if the Big East rushed to add in SLU or UD thinking UCONN was never an option?

Are you implying Gonzaga isn't a "big time program"??? In what world? Adding Gonzaga wouldn't be "expanding just to expand." Just the opposite. Gonzaga would improve the league in every facet: basketball quality, TV audience, name brand, prestige, legitimacy, brand awareness, etc etc. Not to mention the school fits the demographics of the league. AKA everything you would ever want. They're the only non-football playing school you could say that about. Geography the only negative, but there are many ways to make it feasible. Not sure why you're implying they even remotely compare to SLU or UD. Apples and oranges.

I know you weren't there for the previous iteration of the Big East, but adding FBS football schools is not advisable. UConn was an extreme outlier based on their prior storied history with the league and the fact that their football team is a bottom-five FBS program in the country. No F5 conference would ever think of adding UConn's football program, so they aren't leaving. You wouldn't be able to say that about any program in the B12, ACC or ND. Besides the fact that it's a pipe dream any of those schools would leave their green football pastures, it's simply not a good idea to go down that road again; history repeats. Our basketball programs are in a position of power within the sport, no need to risk it playing with fire.

No. I didn’t even remotely imply that.

Gonzaga will always come when called. No need to add them as our league is fine without them. Distance is a nightmare.

It might be a pipe dream to get Kansas, ND or Duke for example but 11 is just fine if we can’t.

Dayton was one of the schools contacted and talks are underway.

The Big 10 was "fine" without USC and UCLA. Cross-country travel didn't stop them. LA to NJ is equidistant to Spokane to Providence. If geography is the only excuse, that's not a good reason not to do it. As we we've seen countless times, proactive conferences thrive while reactive conferences get left behind.

Hopefully Nova keeps their new blue blood status going forward, but with Jay gone nothing's guaranteed. Our league enters the great unknown now that he's gone. They've carried us with their March runs and helped keep us a legitimate conference after the restructuring 10 years ago. We need another school that can achieve Final Four status on a yearly basis. It's important to keep improving on the momentum the league's had, not stay stagnant. What good would it do us to add Gonzaga after our new TV deal? What's the point in waiting... wait just for the sake of waiting? We need to position ourselves in the best possible light for us get a big pay raise in 2025. They'll be joining on July 1, 2025, if not sooner.
