Feels like Marquette has such an advantage schedule wise the rest of the way.

They are going to finish VERY STRONG for sure!

Lewis will have a field day with that schedule. He is now a serious challenger for BE POY. The scoring run he is on, is absolutely phenomenal....stuffing the stat sheet everywhere else as well.

7 Q1 wins now for Marquette, tied for most in the nation right now. Still have a shot at 2 more of them before the Big East Tournament. Wonder what their ceiling is seed wise for the NCAA tournament.

so if Marquette were to win out now- which is possible- they would be 15-4.

Providence would have to go 5-2 the rest of the way to beat them. With 2 of the games being vs Villanova and another vs Xavier.

What really sucks and isn't right.... Villanova could go 7-1 the rest of the way and be 16-4. To me, Marquette should finish ahead of them in that situation as they swept them. Not fair to punish Marquette for not being able to play a game and finish with the same number of losses.

There are going to be some screwed up situations from some teams playing 19 games and others playing 20 (and one playing 17), and a lot of talk is going to also concern which games get missed. Of course, that could still get upended again; we haven't had a lot of cancellations lately and some teams are still vulnerable.

I don't think Nova fans care whether we finish 2nd or 3rd, but what you're suggesting is even more unfair. 16-4 is always better than 15-4.

but it's because Marquette doesn't get to play one of the worst teams- St John's. h2h should matter there IMO. It's a bad situation for sure.

At least for Marquette if they win out, Nova would have to go 7-1 and Providence would have to go 5-2. And that's with those 2 playing 2x. So one of those would have to win out besides playing each other guaranteed(if they split, Nova would have to go 6-0 and PC 4-1, if Nova sweeps Nova 5-1, PC 5-0, if PC sweeps PC 3-2 Nova already with 5 losses so out already).

Marquette is the 3rd team to sweep Nova since BE's reconfiguration, first since 2016-17 Butler.

NET already out...

Marquette now #25 at 16-7 with the #3 SOS in the country.

Nova drops to #7 with the #9 SOS in the country. 16-6.

Xavier goes from 18 to 20
Butler goes from 132 to 127

So strange to see the "new" Big East with 4 teams that you barely win, and it really hurts you. never had more than like 1 or 2 of those before.

X going from 18 to 20 in the whacky ass NET is “really hurting” them? I’ve seen way worse drops in wins to good teams. Let’s face it, the NET is whackadoodle and it always has been.

Wow, Marquette flat out beat us down last night. Ready to play, shot well and long, quick athletes shut our guards down.

The first loss I shrugged off to Nova having a bad game against a good, hot team. This one, not so much.

Marquette is GOOD. Imo, Justin Lewis is POY, he is going to be a wealthy young man next year.

Congrats MU fans... heck of a team on a really good run now.
