This.

Many feel this way, but after watching Georgetown win the BET as an 8 seed last year, get thumped by Colorado in embarrassing fashion in the NCAAT first round, then lay an all time egg this season, I have changed my feelings some on the meaning of winning the BET. The regular season should probably mean more.

I get what you're saying- if it's a fluke BET winner...

But like this year if any of the primary 7 win the BET, that's pretty reasonable to say it means more than a title where games were missed that could have impacted the standings considerably.

Not sure why the league is so passive in trying to make up the Providence games. They're really doing Providence a disservice.

There’s lots of bad takess here. Pc came to Omaha with 9 players and left with 6. 3 players quarantined for the better part of a week in an Omaha hotel.

Informed fans have known for awhile these games had little to no chance of being made up. You just need to look at the rules and the schedules. There’s no where to put games. Without moving the NCAA and conf tourneys back, there’s no more room. If another team goes on pause, the same thing will happen. Everything comes from the league office. Teams are not making the choices.

Pc lost out on a sold out home game too. SHU gave up their gate to play in front of students at Walsh. The league is giving up Tv revenue by losing games. Everyone wants as many played as possible.

Yeah Providence isn't dodging anyone. Maybe teams could've been more proactive in securing additional ooc home games if the conference wasn't able to reschedule conference games quickly. You had teams like Iona willing to travel.

In regards to some teams not being proactive about scheduling OOC opponents I wonder if schools did a cost/benefit analysis of lost revenue vs the cost of adding a buy game mid-season and decided the numbers didn't work. How many times can you afford to pay $100k for an opponent before the numbers don't work out?
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Just to note for Providence opponents- Iona played their final OOC game on the Saturday before the PC outbreak began. So Iona wasn't an option for the 3 teams that PC wound up having been cancelled.
