Its wild, I remember when X was joining the Big East I immediately thought "hell yea, we get to play Marquette and Georgetown twice a year" when in reality I should've been excited about Providence and Seton Hall.

Yeah I remember thinking that us GTown and nova were going to run the conference... oh to be young and full of dreams

With where you guys were thought you were in that group as well. 26-9 and elite 8 appearance in 2013.

Who should the Hoyas target for their next HC?

I'd look at a guy like Ron Hunter, currently at Tulane. They have really improved a lot in the 3 years he's been there after doing well at Georgia St. They've gone from 283 in the final year of Mike Dunleavy to 185 to 144 to 125 this year in KP.

Believe it not, Ewing’s hot seat was a topic of conversation on local Omaha radio this morning.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

Ron Hunter would be a dark-horse candidate at Butler. He started his D-1 coaching career at IUPUI down the road, and is well regarded in the Indiana high school coaches circle (which, as you can imagine, is a big deal around here).

I could see it. The question is would Butler finally go outside the family?

The Butler family seems like it hasn't been that good to Butler in awhile. Holtmann was an outsider that got promoted to interim head coach from assistant after only being there one year when Brandon Miller stepped down just before the season started, and that worked out well for them.

Butler can and should do much better than Hunter IMO.

Curious who people think would be targets for Georgetown if they did a legitimate search and went outside the Thompson tree? This is still a big time job in my opinion

I'm not good at following hot coaching prospects, but I imagine they could have their pick of the mid-major coaching field and might even attract a few high-major coaches too.
