Mack gone from Louisville- official

Postby stever20 » Tue Jan 25, 2022 6:36 pm

Just saw this- it's from the Athletic $:
https://theathletic.com/news/louisville ... fy3rA9KSs/

from the Article:
Louisville and coach Chris Mack are in the final stages of negotiations for a separation agreement, a source with direct knowledge told The Athletic on Tuesday.

A meeting of Louisville's Board of Trustees and Athletics Board has been called for Wednesday to consider approving the agreement and Tuesday's edition of the Chris Mack Radio Show was canceled. Nothing is finalized but the widespread expectation in Louisville is that Mack has coached his last game there.

Sounds like he is done. Someone tweeted that Scruggs lasted longer at X than Mack did at Louisville.

I'd guess confirmation- from Rick Bozich- journalist from Louisville- Source tells me there will be a meeting at Minardi Hall Wednesday morning at 830 with Louisville players, Chris Mack and interim AD Josh Heird.

$12 million bucks to leave a job. Good gig if you can get it.

Did anyone hear Rick Pitino just bought an “investment property” that features a Louisville strip club next door and “boasts burlesque house red velvet wallpaper” in the advert?

Ha! Love it.

Here is an interesting aspect to all of this: his wife is from Louisville, and that was always presented as one of the reasons he took the job. I guess they could stay there and kind of keep quiet and mostly stay to themselves.

Karma is a bitch. I trust he will be smart enough to stay away from Victory Parkway.

12 million buyout, he's set for life. Probably can get any mid-major gig he wants, maybe get back into Big East (Butler?).

Karma is really a bitch.

I'm glad he is going down. Not as glad that he is getting $12 million for it.

Interesting Chris Mack related fact:

None of the former members of the Big East who chased greener pastures are currently in the KenPom Top 50.

51. West Virginia
56. Notre Dame
73. Cincinnati
94. Syracuse
95. Rutgers
113. Louisville
183. Pitt
209. USF

If we're gonna include afterthoughts like USF, might as well include the rest of the dregs:

41 Virginia Tech
64 Miami
142 Boston College
