As a sometimes-watcher of Fox's studio show, it's always amusing to me how much Steve Lavin loves going to Omaha, of all places.

so looking at possible expansion cities:
1 Kansas City
5 Memphis
6 Louisville
7 St Louis
9 Minneapolis
12 Richmond
Big East currently has
2 Chicago
4 Cincinnati
8 New York
11 Washington DC
15 Omaha
No way Omaha should be on that list. We are not a barbecue town. We are a steak town.

Yeah I'm skeptical the more I think about it. I have a pretty insane amount of Chicago pride and think Smoque can hang with anywhere in the country (along with a few near suburb spots) but Chicago at no2 seems really excessive especially when some of our "top BBQ" isn't traditional BBQ like Lems, Russell's, and Twin Anchors. Now Lillie's Q, Honkytonk, Smokedaddy, and Green Street are all decent to great but none are real destinations. Small Batch in Forest park and Babygold in Berwyn are actually doing great stuff (small batch won a ton of competitions) but after that it really drops to chain spots and crap where they smother in sauce.

Man, it's really sucked all the big names that we've lost here recently. Betty White, Bob Saget, now Meat Loaf. And some of the smaller names- one that happened earlier this week- Ron Franklin- the old ESPN guy who called Saturday Night Football always(and also a lot of Big Monday games with Big 12 in hoops).
