I find it funny when a handful of very vocal fans talk about adding teams based on where they'd like to road trip to, lol. Thankfully I think this is a football thing and we don't get much of that in this conference.

To be fair people latched onto that portion of my statement (which I still stand by!) the point people should have taken is that in a very short period being D1 Belmont has won 12 regular season championships (a better barometer for mid and low major success than tournament appearances). And is now about to enter that "next rung below the high majors" so if we're going to sit around waiting on a team in a major metropolitan market to start to pull away from the fray and make a name for themselves then why not at least keep an eye on them? they've shown commitment and success, id be curious to see if the attendance, ncaa success, and viewership increase with the bump in conference where they'll be receiving better seeds, at large bids, and playing better teams.

But yes on top of all that I'd say I'm selfishly including where is a more entertaining city.

Apparently UConn is a city now too!

Storrs actually is just the campus pretty much.... it does boast the internationally-renowned Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry.

Apologies if it sounded like I was trying to single you out. My comment was just a general one based on observing realignment chatter online.

I definitely agree and think that the BE officials are keeping an eye on many different avenues. Belmont may sound far-fetched at this moment, but things can change in a hurry. I do think that if there is another Gonzaga brewing closer to BE's footprint, it's most likely a current BE member.

You aren't trolling, but all you are doing is expressing your opinion.

I was just in Nashville last October. They refer to it as "Nashvegas" for a reason. It is absolute craziness on Broadway downtown. It's great if you like noisy and rowdy places.

Nashville also is a rather recent thing - it was sleepy before the Titans showed up and the development in the city took off.

We all have our opinions. Nashville doesn't hold a candle to the Cincinnati.

Wait, I thought they called it Trashville   I kid I kid

Really though, while I think Nashville would be a decent city to target, Belmont may be a bit too far in Vanderbilt's shadow for us to make solid inroads. Now Vandy would would be a good institutional fit in every way except for why in hell would they give up SEC football to come here?

Ha! I was trying to be polite.

Hall, so true. No way in hell Vandy will ever give up that paycheck. And I'm sure the SEC is perfectly happy to have them in the conference - helps with the academic "reputation" of the conference and it provides a more-often-than-not patsy victory for the others.

I do have to say that Belmont put up one hell of a concert center on its campus.

Thank God we have the luxury of sitting tight and enjoying the 11 teams that comprise this conference presently. As long as we have strong leadership at the presidential level and in the front office in NYC, we'll do just fine. Seriously, this conference could not have worked out much better at this point from where it rebooted.

Yes, any expansion should be based on barbeque.
