Fox Sports 1 Update

saw the announcement for the Belmont Stakes to be made today.

And interesting point- 1st race will be 2023. The 50th anniversary of Secretariat and that blowout. Can't wait for the Tom Rinaldi feature which you know will be coming(btw, what a great pickup he's been for Fox).

Horse racing has been solid for FS1 & FS2. “From Secretariat to American Pharoah, the Belmont Stakes has been racing’s greatest test of the champion, and we couldn’t be prouder to bring it to FOX Sports,” said Michael Mulvihill, FOX Sports Executive Vice President, Head of Strategy and Analytics. “The Belmont enhances FOX’s status as the industry leader in live events and is an important step in our evolution as a media and gaming brand.”



As for Tom Rinaldi, I'm surprised we don't see him on the sidelines in some college football games. Same role on Big Noon Kickoff.

I think they have been having Rinaldi focus on the NFL- and also that incredible Madden documentary. He should win some awards for that one.

this is where I hate Fox. Great game in double OT. Going to change to the Howard game in DC/Baltimore area. But instead of having it on something like FS1 or FS2, they have it just on their app. Inexcusable.

It's sad that they haven't developed FS2 to where it would be a reasonable move.

wow, stinks that Gus Johnson not able to call this game for Fox with ND/Howard due to him being on COVID protocols.

(Gus is actually a Howard Alum).

No. 1: St. John's-Xavier: Jan. 5, 2020: 2.31 million
No. 2: Duke-St. John's: Jan. 25, 2015: 2.17 million

A few observations:

1) SJU played in all 3 of the most-watched college hoops games......can you imagine if we were actually a top 25 team?

2) Amazing that so many people tuned in on Sunday at the same time the Cowboys and 49ers were playing which was not only the best game of the weekend but involved 2 teams with national followings....

3) Another reason why expansion candidates have to bring something to the table ratings-wise, otherwise, I don't see adding teams just for the sake of more inventory....

yeah all the talking head shows on Monday were on fire obviously with the Cowboys losing- both Get Up! and First Take set their record highs as well. Folks wanted to see Skip get abused about the Cowboys along with Stephen A abusing the Cowboys. Was a thing of beauty.

That was one hell of a game with Purdue and Indiana. So close to 1 million.
