Not necessarily the same situation, though. Fox owns all of the Big East's content, so I think most are assuming the sublicensing is moving games that wouldn't be on FS1 into better positions. ESPN doesn't control all of the AAC's content, though I'm not sure to what level they do have. If this deal is moving games they expected to be on ESPN family, then it's a negative. If the deal is grabbing ESPN3 only content, then it's probably good (unless you want the stream). If fans are complaining, they probably see it, true or not, as the ESPN share of the pie being downgraded.
edit: All of these games are all being moved off of ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU/ESPNews. Can't blame their fans for being upset.
