Fox Sports 1 weekend discussion thread

I'm not a TV critic, but I'm going to watch as much of FS1 this weekend as I can. I am interested in your thoughts critically as well as your comparison to ESPN and I figured we could use this thread to discuss the shows, hosts, etc.

Going to be tough for my today, as it's NASCAR and UFC, which I'm just not a FAN OF.

I'll mainly have it on to just see if they have any announcements/promos for new shows/programming.

Similar here unfortunately. I caught a few minutes but then turned away from NASCAR. Most of the schedule today doesn't do much for me, but I will be interested to make the switch from SportsCenter tonight to catch FS Live.

I'm really surprised they don't have something NFL related on at all unless they contractually cannot.

They do. I think a daily show around 6 pm (Mon-Fri).

I hope FS Live is played in the mornings as well. That's usually when I watch my highlights.

I'll tune in for the ufc but no NASCAR for me. From what I have seen though I like their presentation. It looks clean and is a nice contrast to ESPN.

I know Fox Sports Live airs fo4 3 hours live. I'm guessing after that, every hour not listed in the schedule will be re-runs of Fox Sports Live (the highlight show).

I don't watch NASCAR, UFC, or really much TV in general, especially since it is absolutely gorgeous outside this weekend, so I doubt I'll be much help in bumping ratings until basketball season.

I will say, though, the white and blue 'info bar' at the bottom of the screen appears to me more obnoxious/distracting to me than the black/red that ESPN uses.

I caught the first hour of FS1 which was the college football show. I thought it was pretty good, definitely can compete with ESPN's college football show. They also used a few of the regional Fox Sports networks for expertise on certain leagues which I thought was nice. Then Nascar came on and well......channel change. Don't watch UFC either but I'll probably give it a shot tonight. I'll try to watch Fox Sports Live too but it does start late at 11 ET.
