Creighton #6th in attendance for 2012-2013

Postby Jet915 » Wed Aug 14, 2013 12:37 pm

Numbers are out and Creighton was 6th last year in attendance with 17,155 fans. I seriously think we will easily eclipse that this year and maybe catch Indiana....btw, new 6 million dollar scoreboard was showcased today as well.

Crazy impressive considering the teams you were hosting.

Because I wanted to see where everyone else landed here are our leagues attendance rankings after Creighton:

Marquette came in 15th with 15,033

Georgetown in 33rd with 10,911

Xavier in 43rd with 9,781

Villanova in 55th with 8,022
Butler in 58th with 7,899(pleasantly surprised me based on what we had been hearing of having hard time filling Hinkle)

Providence in 60th with 7,722
Depaul in 63rd with 7,681

St. John's in 70th with 7,330
Seton Hall in 72nd with 7,035

That puts all 10 teams in the top 75 in attendance, with two(Creighton and Marquette) in the very small group of 15,000+

Butler was also 17th in largest change in attendance 1,300 new fans last year.

Impressive. While I know some schools are about maxed out at 95%+ guessing some others have room to improve even on these numbers?

Georgetown by far has the most room for improvement the Verizon center will hold 20,308 nearly double their average attendance. If Georgetown had a full house on average they would rank 4th most in attendance.

Followed by St Johns and Villanova who both have the dilemma of playing a portion of their games in an arena smaller than their average attendance so its hard to really say because they are both maxed out and not at all maxed out.

The other teams are performing quite well with respect to the size of their arenas.

Just out of curiousity approximately how many games will St. Johns play at their on campus arena vs. games at MSG? How do their league games break down?

I'd expect a boost in Xavier's attendance this year. Obviously the move to the Big East will create buzz, but the team itself is significantly better this year. Low expectations and the loss of great players before last season hurt attendance in 2012-13.

I am predicting 17,600 this year for the Jays. Also here is a full shot of the new scoreboard, top of the line.
