For those of you not interested in Non-Revs please feel free to ignore this thread

I know there were some Blue Jay soccer fans in here and your @ SLU in October... if SLU doesn't eventually get into the BE I hope this becomes a long standing series between the two schools in soccer. It will be packed at Hermann Stadium!!

We have a whole lot of respect for your soccer program. I, too, would like to see a long, tradition of games between SLU and Creighton.

I don't pay much attention to be honest, but who are the odds on favorites for volleyball and soccer?

I'll admit i have little knowledge about your all's volleyball teams and i think Louisville is in the AAC for volleyball so i'm not sure.

As far as soccer goes... the BE is top to bottom one of the best soccer leagues in the nation if not the best. After basketball its the next best thing to watch- probably cheaper too if you enjoy soccer. I can speak for Creighton in that they are pretty good. Georgetown is the returning NCAA runners up, Marquette has usually got a good squad, St. John's is one of the premier programs, and Providence has a history of strong soccer performances. I know there are some soccer fans on here and were only a few weeks away... curious if anyone has any insight on their own programs...

you didn't ask by Louisville will likely win its last BE title with Field Hockey this fall ;)

SLU vs. Creighton will be good soccer. Two solid programs.
Big East Basketball is what it's always been. Great competition nightly.
If the Atlantic 10 didn't suck, why is everyone looking for the exits?
There is a reason why the A-10 left a team in the Central Time Zone...SLU, your move.

College soccer rankings are usually a crap shoot, until you get to tourney time. Then the wheat separates itself from the chaff. Following college soccer for decades, my opinion is that the ACC is head and shoulders above the rest of the leagues. They will only get better with the addition of Louisville. Then you can throw a blanket around about every other major conference except the SEC and Big 12. Last I looked, some of the SEC schools played soccer in the Valley. Soccer v football just doesn't cut it in those leagues. Then you have the wild cards such as Akron that are typically strong nationally but in leagues that provide them little competition.

Creighton, Georgetown, Marquette, Xavier and St. John's will fight it out in soccer this year and Creighton and Marquette will be the top teams in volleyball.

Volleyball is not a great sport for the conference. Marquette and Creighton were the strongest last year, but Xavier was the only other one to post some good computer numbers and display success. Not a lot of history for any program in this sport, either, so it could prove to be anyone's conference in the coming years. I hope Marquette can capitalize on being one of the strongest over the conference change and become a leading program for the conference.

Women's soccer is one of Marquette's best programs over the last 10-15 years. They've put together a string of division titles in the Big East and won the conference this last year. It's a good sign that Georgetown was their conference title game opponent, though. After that... I don't think there's much for depth. The teams I remember being strong are gone and I think Butler was the only team coming in that had a good season last year.

Georgetown ranked second, Creighton fourth, and Marquette eighth in @csoccernews pre-season rankings. St. John's and Xavier also Top 25. 2013 BIG EAST contains 3 of top 8, and 5 of top 22 teams in the @Csoccernews preseason men's soccer national poll. Not too shabby...

I knew Marquette was much improved since poaching the coach from UW-Milwaukee, but I didn't realize the program had come so far. Good job by everyone else, looks like a strong league we have here.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
