Saw this-
https://www.zagsblog.com/2023/02/10/st- ... -anderson/“It’s not going to happen,” the source said. “St. John’s will not be looking for another coach. Mike Anderson is owed $11.4 million over four years, and St. John’s doesn’t have that type of money.”

Yikes, 11M? No wonder he didn't jump to Tulsa.

Yeah, that's crazy money there for sure. Maybe best case is they move off him after next year when it gets down to "only" like 7-8 million?

Not sure I buy this story from Zags. It is St. john's, so you always have to assume the worst decision is a distinct possibility. Still, I think that barring an unexpectedly strong finish this season, a change will be made. This might have been leaked to gain a little leverage in any buy out negotiations.

Yeah, hope what you're saying is the case. Will be interesting to watch in about 4 weeks time.

saw this:
https://twitter.com/NYPost_Brazille/sta ... 2662176775I’ll say this, the report out that Mike Anderson’s job is safe would be news to people in the program. Spoken to multiple sources who had no idea his future and were under impression that barring a really strong finish, change was likely.

I think the smart money still says he gone. Unfortunately, I no longer think Pitino will be the one to replace him.

I feel like the issues at St. John's go much deeper than the head coaching position. Same at Georgetown.

From what I've read on forums and Twitter, credible posters say he's gone. Fortunately the initial report is likely incorrect or strategically placed for leverage.

Why do you think Pitino is off the table? I would think Father Shanley would support going after him?
