I like the fact the part that says Creighton is a likely partner with Butler and Xavier. Not sure if this guy has sources or is just regurgitating the ESPN article.

Here's this today:
The seven Catholic basketball schools who have broken away from the Big East have begun exploring TV deals.

Representatives of the schools — DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, Seton Hall, St. John's and Villanova — were meeting Wednesday in New York with representatives from Fox Sports, a person with direct knowledge of the discussions confirmed to USA TODAY Sports. SI.com first reported the discussions.

The person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the discussions, said that a deal is not expected to be done soon because the group has not decided how many teams its new league will have.

Rumor is now that no announcement on teams will come until this basketball season concludes.

If they wait until after the season, I find it hard for the league to start next year like Fox would want.

I agree it will be difficult but when there is a will there is a way. Just so we are clear by will, i really mean $$$$.

I guess but that would be killer for the fall sports to schedule teams on such short notice...

I doubt killer, plus no announcement is not the same thing as no planning. Look at how a number of recent moves were all but accepted prior to being announced. This is a bigger process, it wouldn't shock me to have solid rumors weeks ahead of an announcement.

I like this comment from that article:

"Other sports that Williams said he will value highly in prospective additions to the Catholic Seven will include women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball."

Hope that helps Creighton...the commitment to women's basketball, the success of and commitment to our soccer program, and the recent success of our volleyball team...
