Boy will the Xavier/Marquette game drive in the weekend for Cincy/Milwaukee fans- either make it where it's a great weekend for Cincy fans/horrible weekend for Milwaukee fans or mixed bags for both. Big game though seriously. Can Marquette get the huge win for themselves and stay within 2 games of Providence in the loss column- and also get the season split which when combined with the Nova win probably puts them ahead of Xavier in any tiebreak scenario this year? Can Xavier get the win in the start of a very difficult week(with Providence and @ Creighton upcoming)? Love these type of games as we get close to the midway mark of the season.

Big game for Providence especially if they have to make up the 3 games. Kind of games you just have got to get.

My adolescences to the Packers fans. What an awful way to lose! Hopefully we don't have to see Rodgers in another uniform.

Talk about a new coach utilizing the Portal......Morsell and Kolek are found gold IMO. Bookend guards with perfectly diverse skill sets....just plug and play. Kolek didn't blink with the jump in competition. Already an elite facilitator and sneaky good defender/scorer. Morsell....WOW! Grabbing the B10 DPOY will tend to ease a lot of growing pains in your new job! AND then, he just happens to take his scoring to the next level....yikes!

Obviously MU has jelled and is on a fast upward trajectory. I don't see any real match up advantages. XU can't exploit the Marquette depth because they can go 10 deep. I'm thinking Scruggs will see a steady dose of Morsell on both ends.....push. MU has a chance to limit Nunge offensively with Kuath. I'm pretty sure they will try to create situations in the man that leaves Free guarding Lewis.... probably more yikes! If ZFree gets exposed early, there will be pine awaiting....unless he really rakes on the other end. Hopefully the Golden Eagles are off shooting 3's and X can beat them with our zone.

Xavier CAN/SHOULD out rebound them.....gotta win the second chance points war. X CAN/SHOULD end up with a decent attempt advantage from the line, but can we MAKE THEM?

This Xavier/Marquette game definitely could have big implications on final Big East standings.

boy Providence really letting Butler hang around here. So weird thinking of a team like Butler as a team that would be a bad loss, but that's what they are right now this year.

like I said last night- tiebreakers. The winner of this game will most likely have the tiebreaker on the other. Xavier would have the sweep so absolute. Marquette would get the split, and has the win over Nova so most likely will have the 2nd tiebreaker. Tiebreakers are going to be so huge this year you'd think.

This was a good game of runs up until Xavier just couldn't respond to the last one by Marquette. A lot of missed shots at the rim, partly attributed to season-long good rim protection by Marquette, but Xavier just hasn't been finishing well in the paint the last few games either. Overall, a fun game to watch, just wish X had made it at least a little more interesting at the end.
