For the play-in games? That's trash, i would rather be a 12 seed in a play-in game than one not in a play-in game if thats the case.

That doesn't seem reasonable. The teams battling for the 16 seed get to fight for an extra credit while the 15 has to go up against a 2 seed for the same payout?

I was thinking something like, each participant in the play-ins gets a half unit, then if they win, they get the rights to the full unit in the round of 64 game. Then the 4 losers of the play-in games each get a half unit, adding only 2 units for 4 games. Makes sense to me but who knows how it actually works.
