Here is a break down of NCAA picks for 2013 for each conference vs what they would be after this years realignment.

2013 Actual:

Big East - 8 - Louisville (1), Georgetown (2), Marquette (3), Syracuse (4), Notre Dame(7), Pittsburgh (8), Villanova (9), Cincinnati (10)
(Note - UCONN Not Eligible in 2013)

Atlantic 10 - 5 - St. Louis (4), VCU (5), Bulter (6), Temple (9), La Salle (13)

ACC - 4 - Miami (2), Duke (2), North Carolina (8), North Carolina State (8)

MVC - 2 - Creighton (7), Wichita State (9)

Conference USA: 1 – Memphis (6)

And if you take those same schools and put them into their new conferences - Looks like ACC is the big Winner.

2014 - Project Re-Alignment

ACC - 7 - Miami (2), Duke (2), Syracuse (4), Notre Dame(7), North Carolina (8), North Carolina State (8), Pittsburgh (8)

Big East - 5 - Georgetown (2), Marquette (3), Bulter (6), Creighton (7), Villanova (9),

America 12 - 4 - Louisville (1), Memphis (6), Temple (9), Cincinnati (10)
(Note - UCONN Not Eligible in 2013 - in 2014 - UCONN would likely be in)

Atlantic 10 - 3 - St. Louis (4), VCU (5), La Salle (13)

MVC - 1 - Wichita State (9)

Conference USA: 1 – Auto Bid winner (Charlotte ???)

The Big east for 2014 could pick up another NCAA tourn team from 2013 if they take St. Lou - and that would further hurt the A-10.

Should be an interesting week - lets hope they make the announcements earlier rather than later in the week.

This is another reason for the Big east to go to 12 teams - so as to bump up the number of teams in the tournament.

With 10 about the most you are going to get in is 6 teams in any season. With 12 teams you could get to 7. Maybe to 8 - best case for 12 teams. There is always going to be a certain amount of in conference beating up that goes on.

It looks like the ACC and Big ten will be in the 8 team range and maybe 9 some seasons. Once All their teams move over.

At 10 teams there is a distinct disadvantage when it comes to getting at large bids - and the PR / TV time that comes with each bid.

The America 12 conference once Lou leaves will get 4 teams in each year - if one of their big 4 does not loose on the road to any of the other lower tier teams - a loss at Tulane or SMU will be a bid killer.

The Big East once got 7 teams in from a 9-team league. Just saying.

Well the hurricanes are cheaters. Once the NCAA comes down on them they will be back to normal. Not to mention chances are they will make your 7 acc teams drop to six as I'm sure their season will not count.

Btw, why didn't X recruit shayne Larkin?!?!?! His unle Byron Larkin is Barry's brother and Xavier all time scoring leader. They grew up Cincy. Instead we got dee Davis. Heard he really wanted to come here. Perfect fit.

Shane Larkin didn't really come on to Xavier's radar until after Dee Davis had committed. You win some you lose some. Remember Churchill Odia? We took him over that Lowry kid that ended up at Villanova (sorry I have blocked out his name because it hurts so much).
