Two sources of 10 team league

A Marquette source says Xavier/Butler/Dayton. A Providence source says Xavier/Butler/Creighton. Since Dayton/Creighton rhyme, could one of the sources misheard the team names. While the Blue Jays have been a bit more successful as of late, I would be surprised if they dumped the UD/XU rivalry, and ignored the significant travel costs for nonrevenue sports. But we will soon see.
I have to admit, I read an idea on another board which I personally would prefer. The top seven schools from the a10 break away to form their own conference. With current RPIs, that conference would be the top basketball conference in the country. Then they could pick who they want. But barring that, the c7 is better than the a10 as it is now.

Interesting info on all sides. The rumors are starting to fly now which has to mean something is brewing, right?
Source?

No offense, but I'd rather have Creighton

The A10 Seven sounds like a good idea, but they haven't all played each other for the past six years and wouldn't get an auto bid, if that matters. Plus, who are the seven? Butler, Xavier, VCU, Dayton, Temple (if they don't switch to the Big Leftovers), then who? Richmond? LaSalle? Umass (who is likely to bolt for a fbs conference)? St. Bonaventure? Duquesne? There are multiple schools who have legitimate arguments to get that seventh spot.

Well, there were actually two different Marquette sources, one saying X/Butler/Dayton and the other saying X/Butler/Creighton along w/the Providence source that says X/Butler/Creighton
....not that any of this matters really, it's just fun to speculate.

Are these just internet message board sources or actual published sources by the media?

Just message board stuff, and nothing really matters until there is an actual announcement.

Sorry, the seven schools weren't all from the a10. It would be Butler, Creighton, Dayton, st. Louis, Richmond, VCU, and Xavier.

The only thing that I think is semi-credible is the SI article from Thamel who states it's likely 12 and that Butler, X are in and Dayton/Creighton are "near-definite" w/SLU being an option as #12.

This would be my hope as well. Again, everything is speculation and none of us really know what is going on behind the scenes. The issue such as revenue sharing is again an item that needs to be taken care of, but as people have stated here, makes no sense in the long run. I guees that is why we have message boards though. I just registered but have been following the discusssions and appreciate the information provided from people such as NJ Redman, X Man, Jets 915,etc. The good news is there seems to be a lot less trolls and fanatics than other boards. I hope it can stay that way and also hoping I have a reason to stay when the dust settles. I do believe that the silence from our end, is hopefully good news at the end- I just hope it comes sooner than later.
