Another insider article handicapping the conference. Unsurprisingly ESPN don't seem to enamoured with the Big East these days. Apparently Brad Stevens was the face of the conference and we don't have a headlining team either making us the new Mountain West

One head coach who wished to remain anonymous said that he’s worried about the league’s perception now that its conference games won't be on ESPN.
“No one’s going to know our league,” he said. “Everyone’s going to beat up on everyone, two or three teams will separate themselves, and we won’t get as many teams in the tourney. It’s going to hurt with seeding, also.”
I call BS on this. Anonymous...ya right ESPN.
And I once had a girlfriend that was hotter than Kate Upton......but she wishes to remain anonymous.

I don't doubt that a coach said that. Why would Goodman just go and make that up?
It's a disappointing quote, but not a surprising stance. Of course some coach will be worried about the exposure of an unknown product. ESPN is established, FS1 isn't even on the air. It very well could be a problem, especially in the first 2-3 years. If FS1 magically becomes a near equal to ESPN right off the bat, the Big East has a huge win and all of the coaches will be happy about exposure. I don't count that as likely, we just have to wait and see where FS1 ends up. I do think they'll prove to be ESPN's top competition, though, so I don't think it'll be so bad with the conference getting so many games aired.

If we win, people will find our games on FS1. Just have to force the public to notice.

Oh come on, it's a bad article, but they also have had positive ones recently about the Big East. King had three mentions (Big East, Butler, Creighton) for our conference in realignment winners, and Dana O'Neil was positive about us in her latest piece. Nobody forced them to have a headline about Rafferty moving to FS1 for the Big East. If it's a systematic attack they should be avoiding the positives to go along with their negatives.
Medcalf throws his guess in the ring
