On one hand it's a big blow to both Butler and the Big East but it's also a terrific indication of how far the school has come that the Celtics have come calling. He'll have a tough introduction to the NBA with them rebuilding but if anyone can get the best out of a young team it will be Stevens. Any early news on a possible replacement?

Butler fans are hoping for LaVall Jordan a Michigan assistant.

Awful news for Butler, awful news for the league. Reminds me of when PJ left SHU, it happened so deep into the offseason that getting a viable replacement was well nigh impossible. We hired George Blaney and 20 years later we still haven't recovered.

The bright side is that Georgetown can probably hire him in 3-4 years after he gets fired from Boston. That is going to be a crappy team for years to come and I have a hard time believing their fans are going to be patient.

Oh my god, shut up VCU fan. No one adds a school because of who the coach is 'right now.' That's a dumb, short-sighted view. Butler beat you in many other ways.

Have fun living in your delusions that Shaka will never leave.

Maybe Shaka will take the Butler job so he can coach in a major conference.
