I wonder who the Horizon League will get to replace them. I think they're down to 8 teams now with Butler and Loyola gone. I know they talked about Oakland (Detroit) a couple of years back, but Detroit Mercy didn't want them. It has been hard filling out non-revs in a 10 team league, I can only imagine the time they'll be having.

My guess is Davidson pickup is a preemptive move with the expectation that we will be snatching SLU and Dayton. Would move the A10 out of the Midwest. If we don't wind up taking Dayton then I feel bad for them, stuck in the Midwest by themselves. Not advocating for them, I don't care which teams get added. I would be just as happy with Richmond/Davidson/Detroit Mercy/maybe 1 or 2 other teams.

What's interesting in something like Davidson to the A10, is if the moves get put off for a number of years they could become and interesting target for the Big East. Their gym is tiny and they are a far outstretch of Charlotte so you doubt the move would ever be made, but you never know if we wanted to add two Eastern teams and proved to be consistent quality on the court.

VCU and about a dozen others (maybe more) would be considered long before Davidson.
