Clearly, the Big Ten has had more than enough of that DePaul smoke.

Per Rothstein, Big Ten and Big East are in advanced discussions to continue the series. Sweet.

Rothstein today:

Sources: There continues to be major momentum from the Big East & Big Ten to open the 2024-25 season --- the same year that the Big Ten adds UCLA, USC, Oregon & Washington --- with the Gavitt Games, with games being played on Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday of the first week.

Really unfortunate, but to be expected with all the expansion in the Big Ten conference. They are likely to play more then 20 league games in the future. At least we still have the Big East-Big12 thing going on. I'm not concerned about finding teams to schedule. This might give the conference more flexibility.

No Gavitt Games after thus year. Very unfortunate but expected thanks to the B1G. However, the following rivalry games will still likely be played annually/semi-annually:

Marquette/Wisconsin
Creighton/Nebraska
Butler (Crossroads Classic with Indiana/Butler)
Seton Hall/Rutgers
Georgetown/Maryland

Sure there's a few more that get played too, even if not under the Gavitt Games banner.

It’s a bummer for sure. Big 12 Battle contract lasts how much longer.
