We weren't going to keep 7 teams above the "pit" anyways. Maybe this sparks SJU to make a run.

St John's has 8 games left if they make up the game with Marquette against ranked teams(9 to include unranked Creighton). 2 ea vs Nova, Xavier, and Marquette, and single games vs Providence Creighton, and UConn. they would need to go at least 3-6 vs those 9 and quite possibly 4-5 to make the tourney. And of course sweep Butler and beat Georgetown and DePaul both on the road. They have a shot- but they're going to need to find a way to duplicate tonight quite a bit going forward.

Sounds doable if they have truly turned the corner. We'll see. People keep talking about their weak ooc schedule, but what stings is their loss to Pitt. Tons of other teams are in better shape than SJU without a signature ooc win.

we'll know soon enough IMO. Next 2 are with Nova and Providence. Then @ Georgetown and @ Butler. 4 games in 8 days. That stretch will set up the rest of the season.

If I am SJU, I'd look for teams with inflated NET rankings and offer to play them on the road. It'd suck for them if the home game vs. Marquette never gets made up and they end up needing wins.
stever20 wrote:They only have the Marquette game not scheduled to make up right now. So set for 30 games- only space for 1 game. Tonight was the Seton Hall makeup. Have Georgetown and Butler already scheduled to be made up.
