That's because they had an SDSU player holding on to them on every play. Also in--Ben Shtolzberg, a freshman guard that the coaches seem to think could be a very good player.

The Creighton coaches know their stuff! I’m amazed how they bring in some unheralded players every year and there is always someone in that group who makes a big splash and plays above his rating.

We'll see what happens with him. He might hit the portal because he wasn't a significant player this year

I think he was a top 50 recruit in that class.

Just saw per Rothstein-
Virginia transfer Isaac Traudt has committed to Creighton, per release.

Traudt committed to CU today. Mac really wanted him and he seems like a perfect fit.

Traudt is a former top 100 recruit (64th 247 composite ranking in '22). Prototypical skilled 4, face-up, post moves, and shooting.

Traudt is interesting because he definitely fills a need of a big forward with consistent shooting (Kaluma is 3 inches shorter and not a consistent shooter). At the same time, we have both Mason Miller and RS freshman Jasen Green waiting to claim more minutes. I'm of the opinion that Traudt will be the most physically ready of the three to make an impact. Perhaps Miller slides into a wing role and plays alongside Traudt, but I also question his ability to defend guards... will be interesting to see how it shakes down. And this whole discussion is contingent upon who returns.

All of that aside -- huge pickup for Creighton.

Traudt #23 in portal rankings. Nice get for Creighton. Could see him as stretch 4 and possible small ball 5 (He' 6'10)(39-41 is Storr, Posh and Bates)

# 23 ranking is pretty good for a player that hasn't played a second of live college basketball!

CU beat writer dropped on Twitter that Ben Schtolzberg will be entering the portal soon, only to remove the tweet. Probably not a great move to post that before the kid makes a statement, but that looks to be forthcoming.

As you mentioned that, Shereef Mitchell says he has put his name in the portal. Sad to see him go but I can't say I'm too surprised. He had a great 4 years at CU and wish him nothing but the best

This one surprises me and it was announced that Mitchell was forgoing senior night activities at the end of the season which led everyone to believe he’d be back for his 5th year.
