If memphis is a no go then look for Dayton to get the invite.

Memphis? Wow they don't fit the profile at all. What would they do with football?
Memphis is interesting cause their football is so bad there is no way they get invited to acc or any other BCS conference.

But it's all about football. They can play everything in the BE and collect football checks. To not do so would be foolish.

Thing is, how big will the paycheck really be and not all the football teams make money.

They're not dropping football so it'd have to go somewhere.? You want to talk about a misfit academically and Memphis would be that.

This was all brought about by issues revolving around football and I think the C7 want to get as far from the football schools as possible.

I think the current Big East could make this extremely difficult on Memphis. They are banking on keeping their basketball competitive by having Temple, Memphis, Cinci, and UConn.

I was told the schools joining have been informed of the invite so they can plan their exit strategies from their current leagues. I don't think they will say anything until the spokesperson appointed for the new league tomorrow make his statement.

Just catching up on some different threads - if this is true, the schools already know what is happening and the story which raised the ire of many (myself included) is probably a moot point. I sure hope that the revenue issues don't keep the league from forming.
