Question for Villanova fans about Achraf Yacoubou

Postby DumpsterFireA10 » Sat Jun 01, 2013 11:52 pm

What can y'all tell me about Achraf Yacoubou?

Just announced he's transferring to Saint Louis tonight.
Big East Basketball is what it's always been. Great competition nightly.
If the Atlantic 10 didn't suck, why is everyone looking for the exits?
There is a reason why the A-10 left a team in the Central Time Zone...SLU, your move.

Ach (pronounced "Ash") is a nice player who was a victim of a #'s game. With Bell and Hilliard, Archidiacono and now Enis, and another wing guard coming in (Hart) Ach was the odd man out in the backcourt. He has the chance to become to solid player but def. not a star.

The good: plays hard, good on ball defender, decent outside shot (his 3 pt % is good but I wouldn't characterize him as a prototypical shooter); good rebounder for a guard; pretty good athleticism; seems coachable/good attitude; tough.
The bad: weak handle; can't create his own shot; would occasionally get lost on defensive switches, etc.; wouldn't say he has high basketball IQ; good at many things but not great at any; never going to take over a game.

I wish Jay Wright could have figured out a way to get him more minutes. He would never overwhelm you when looking at him play but you'd notice that he'd make an impact on the stat sheet in the limited time he got. You guys will probably like what you're getting.
