Creighton gets the commitment from 4* Larry Johnson. He is # 80 on 24/7 composite. Our 3* recruit, Ty Davis, will be upgraded to a 4* top 100 on the next Rivals ranking, so 3 4* top 100 players. Shaping up to be a great class!

Johnson should help us next year when Trey is gone. Very happy to get his commitment.

So far, for 2024, the Big East has 5 of the top 25 recruiting classes according to College Basketball Report:

Georgetown #4
UConn #11
Creighton #12
Marquette #16
SJU #17

Not too shabby!!!

Villanova received three crystal balls for top 100 player PF Mathew Hodge. The 4 Star will announce his decision this Friday.

Would be a huge get for Neptune and the program. Nova is also a finalist for top-50 Isaiah Elohim.

#140: Jonathan Powell has been committed to Xavier for 4 1/2 months. Looks like Rivals needs to do more research as they still show him as uncommitted. I think the 24/7 composite is a better system then one individual site, as it takes into account Rivals, ESPN, 247Sports, and On3 I believe. That is far better then one scout site who perhaps doesn't have the research or bandwidth to see every prospect. Powell is #112 on the 247Sports composite.

With Nova recruiting getting hot lately, the BE now has 6 of the top 22 recruiting classes on 24/7 for 2024. Hoyas at #8, Creighton #9, Nova #11, UConn #17, Marquette #21 and St, Johns #22. Providence is next at #34. Things will change, of course, but great job so far!

I’m glad to see that posters are celebrating recruits in the top 100 and 150. Getting a top 25 recruit is almost always a bad thing because if they live up to their hype, they’re almost always one & done. National championships are rarely won with freshmen, regardless of how talented. Exhibit One for this would be Kentucky, which hasn’t won a NC in more than a decade and hasn’t even been to a Final 4 since 2015. Exhibit 2 would be UConn, which hasn’t had a single McDonald’s All American on any of its last 3 national champions.it’s much better to have experienced depth with players in the 30-70 range than it is to bring in a few high school stars from the top 5-10.
