just saw the Maui brackets released....

Marquette draws UCLA 1st round. 11:30 ET. Huge game as winner gets Kansas. loser gets Chaminade.

other half of bracket is Tennessee/Syracuse and Purdue/Gonzaga.

Hey! Don't disrespect Chaminade like that! Just kidding, really hoping we beat UCLA.

I'll be curious if the fire(s) impacts the Maui tournament. The tournament is held at the Lahaina Civic Center and that's where one of the fires took out much of the historic district, which is about 1.5 miles from civic center. We had some great times last year at waterfont bars that are gone. Creighton, Cincinnati, and Texas Tech all stayed at Ka'anapali Westin, which is about 4 miles north of historic Lahaina (and doesn't appear to be damaged). Haven't heard if the Civic Center was damaged.

Per a CBS Sports article, the Civic Center was undamaged but most everything nearby is destroyed.

Devasting to see the pics. Our family had a great time there last year with Creighton. I wonder if they move the tournament this year like they did for covid....
